Wobbly, but walking
Nick is now 17 months 5 days old, which is 3 days before his home evaluation for delayed walking and, as predicted by the pediatrician, he is rapidly learning to walk. He took his first steps last week when I was out of town, and has been rapidly improving ever since. He has been an expert at walking around on his knees for quite some time, but now he is really getting his balance when standing on his feet. Susan has been working hard with him, making him walk long distances while holding his hand (which means it take
forever to get anywhere), and it has really paid off. He now will stand and walk if you put him down on his feet and often gets to his feet to walk around rather than crawl or knee walk. We assume he'll be running by the time the occupational therapists come on Thursday to evaluate him. We've just posted a new movie of him displaying his various walking skills as well as his playing with trucks and rolly toys skills. Check it out...
