Grandpa Dan and Noonie heading home...

Grandpa Dan and Noonie had a great visit with Lux this weekend and are heading home this morning. She really bonded with them, and one gift they brought became an instant favorite. They got Lux a really soft thing that is sort of a combination of a blanket and a stuffed animal. Lux seems to love to lay on her tummy on the blanket part and curl her arm around the dog head. It is so soft and cuddly it seems to put her to sleep immediately.

On Saturday, we went over to our neighbor's pool party and got to introduce Lux to several of the neighborhood kids. Their daughter Julianna was born in January and will be in the same grade as Lux, so hopefully they'll become great friends. The big excitement at the party was that Lux got to try swimming for the first time. We put her in a swim diaper and I took her into the baby pool. She did great with only an occasional flash of a "why is daddy doing this to me?" expression! A couple of the neighborhood girls (Rachel and Ali) helped out with the swimming, mainly by encouraging me to let Lux go down the slide. :-) After a while it seemed like she was getting a little chilly so we took her out and wrapper her in her warm towel.

Then on Sunday we took her to brunch at Monroe's, and then had a barbeque at home. My second cousin Suzanne and her husband Jason came over and got to try out holding Lux. They just got married last year, so they are still a little skittish with babies. But I'm sure they'll learn... We cooked up some great sausages we got from the Del Ray Farmer's Market, grilled corn, and Suzanne brought a delicious Black Forest cake. Yum!
