Walking Talking Doll
Well, it's official. Lux has said her first word. Sure she has been saying Dada for several weeks now, but as pleased as Paul was by that he couldn't help but notice that she didn't necessarily seem to be saying it to him. Or about him. Or even in his general vicinity most of the time. Lux's first word, which she uses in context daily now, is Kitty.Our cat, Bean, who would be completely justified in gloating, has been handling this honor quite well. She also handles ear pulling, tail yanking and bear hugs from Lux quite well, which we are very grateful for.
Lux has also been stretching her legs a bit. Though she isn't walking on her own, she does now like to walk holding on to our hands, and even approaches me throughout the day at times asking in her way for a brief stroll. Her steps are too large and wobbly, but she'll be racing about on her own soon enough.
The upcoming weeks will be busy as all the babies from our birth class celebrate their first birthdays. Alexandra was the first (she's also the best stander of the group) and it was a roaring success. We got some great pictures of the kids all together and Lux loved the balloon she got to take home. She pulled it around with her all afternoon once we got home.
