First Haircut
Lux got her first haircut on Saturday night. She had been getting that "baby mullet" look pretty bad. After her bath when she was pretty groggy, I held her on my lap while we watched Teletubbies and Susan was able to cut the back of her hair straight across the back so it doesn't fall onto her neck. It is amazing how nice and neat her hair looks now! Eventually, more than just the back of her hair will be long enough to cut, and we'll start working it into a bob (the only "child appropriate" haircut, as far as we're concerned). I know that some people get very sentimental about the first haircut and put it off as long as possible. That just leads to a lot of little kids having really ugly mullets while they wait for their hair to get long enough to do something with. I'm thrilled with the results of her first trim, and I would even have done it sooner.No new news on the pregnancy. Susan is doing well, although she is really starting to show and (as is apparently often the case) she hasn't gotten that second trimester boost of energy with the second baby. Thankfully, Lux is still sleeping great and making our lives really easy. The only issue we had is that we all got a cold after a playdate with Lux's friend Alexandra. Lux got a bit stuffed up, but not too bad and it didn't seem to affect her all that much. We had to suffer through a few nights of sore throats, but it passed fairly quickly.
