Is it easier the second time?
Here we go again! That's right, Susan's pregnant again! We just got back the first results from the amnio, and we are expecting a baby boy around Valentine's Day. Susan is doing great so far. The pregnancy symptoms have been a bit worse than with Lux, but not intolerable. She just started pre-natal yoga again since it seemed to help a lot last time.Lux will be 19 months old when her baby brother is born, and we are certainly curious about how she will react to her new baby brother. She is doing wonderfully at the moment, sleeping and eating well, and starting to use "words" (well, more like a variety of grunts) for various concepts like baby, animal, dog, and flower. She loves to look through picture books and point out all the things she knows. A real joy is seeing her come running down the front walkway towards my car when I get home each evening. She seems to say "dada" when referring to me more and more. Today, Susan opened the front door for another reason and Lux got excited and started saying dada, thinking that I had just arrived home.
This weekend she had fun playdates with her friends Juliana and Alexandra. Mostly they still seem to play near each other, rather than with each other. Still, it is great to seem them acting more and more like little girls, rather than babies.
Tomorrow she starts music class again. Hopefully she'll enjoy it even more now that she has the coordination to clap and play some of the instruments.
