Boo! Happy Halloween!
It has been one week since Susan's surgery and she is continuing to improve. The improvement probably would have been much quicker if Lux didn't keep kicking her in the stomach, however. Unfortunately, I had a big project design review this week and Susan had to take over caring for Lux earlier than we had hoped. Still, they both did well and Lux is now fully comfortable with either a bottle of formula or feeding at the breast.Lux's progress has been amazing in the last few weeks. She is getting really good at reaching and grabbing with her hands and can almost hold her own bottle. She stands very well when supported. But, she still hates to be put down on the floor so she isn't working on her pre-crawling skills much and topples over immediately if you sit her up on her own. She really likes her new exer-saucer that keeps her in a standing position while she spins around and plays with the different toys.
On Wed night, she got to come out with me to the end-of-meeting dinner party at one of my colleagues homes. She was great as usual and entertained everyone. One person asked me, in amazement, "Doesn't she ever cry?". It is funny how she always acts so nice in social situations where she is being carried around all the time and getting lots of attention. But at home, if you try to put her down for a few minutes to get something done, you wouldn't be asking that same question!
